What Happens After We Die?
February 16th, 2026Now that I have reached Old Age I’m getting excited about Heaven.
I wonder what it will be like?
In fact “The Old Codgers” a group of old christian pastors & leaders whom I have fellowship with every week, bring up the topic from time to time.
No Im not feeling morbid but rather intrigued that so many people in our secular world don’t seem to give it a second thought.
Recently I have been to a number of funerals, which naturally makes me think about Heaven and what it will be like?
One funeral I attended recently, believe that when you die your soul goes to sleep and is not conscious of anything that is happening on earth.
“Soul sleep” is a belief that after a person dies his or her soul “sleeps” until the resurrection and final judgment.
Seventhday Adventist, Jehovah Witnesses & Christadelphian believe that when they die they go into a state of unconsciousness or sleep awaiting the resurrection.
The Bible tells us that after death believers’ souls/spirits are taken to heaven, because their sins were forgiven when they received Christ as Saviour (John 3:16, 18, 36).
For believers, death means being “away from the body and at home with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:6–8; Philippians 1:23).
Now to save your time reading this, as I am not a theologian, just a humble believer and don’t want to exhaust you with my theology.
I want to point you to man who has led more to Christ that any one in my living memory.
Billy Graham I reckon is worth listening to and since his passing, the organisation he established continues his work.
