2019 – So Whats Next?

The year 2019 has well and truly been introduced to Australia with flooding rains in the North, bush fires in the South and record heat waves in some of our capital Cities & States.

Happy New Year to all my Australian friends and Greetings to all my cyber contacts overseas.

I am now back online for another year and eager to be a blessing to my friends on social media which I call, with tongue in cheek “Facebook Church / Youtube Church / Instagram Church”.  Haha! …. “Campuses” as they call it now days!

“I am not one given to negative thinking,” at least that’s what I continually tell myself, even though I’m now in my 80th year and the world scene looks ‘pretty grim’!

Ive never seen Secularism so rampant as it is today but then again the Bible does warn us what will happen. 2 Timothy 3:1-5.

Regardless of the facts as the world appears to be spiralling downwards spiritually, I choose to believe and focus on a bright future with the Holy Spirit at the helm.

Which reminds me to say, “it’s Ok to look back and remind yourself of the good time from whence you’ve come.

The Bible says in Proverbs 10:7 “The memory of the righteous is a blessing….”

In fact I tell my grandchildren “If you loose your way on life’s journey, remember your christian roots and reset your heart with repentance”!

Life is too short to get bogged down with fear and things that don’t really matter.

Recently I was going through some old pics of my own history which triggered some positive emotions of when I started out on this journey.

When I looked back through the road called ‘memories’, it’s hard to believe what blessings have come my way since I graduated from Bible School in 1960.

Yes indeed the memory of the righteous are a blessing because they help you see life with positive and meaningful perspective!

I notice now that I am old, I look through the rear vision mirror quite regularly.

It not only reminds from whence I came but where I’m going.

Take a look at this old video I uploaded to my Youtube channel from my Adelaide ministry days.

I can’t believe I once had such energy and enthusiasm, let alone fulfilling my dream to lead a large congregation in Worship.

More importantly I love looking at the congregations of yesteryear and remembering the people I once served.

The hymns we once sang, the lyrics we once imbibed and the worship that we were submersed in.

For those of you who were there and any musician that may read this blog, take a listen to the Trumpet solo that climaxed the time of Worship at the end.

In my eyes you all looked wonderful as we joined together in Praise & Worship all those years ago during the twentieth century, at the Paradise Assembly of God in South Australia, now known as “Influencers Church.”

Of course some have passed on to that glorious place we call “Heaven”!

For some, the Holy Spirit has brought Salvation to your household, for others He has given you the grace to handle great trials.

As for me? With a couple of physical operations behind me, I have learned to appreciate life and value my friends & family .

I just want to use my last days, years, who knows how long, for the Lord and to bless others!

One of my prophetic codger friends gave me ‘two years.’ ……  We laughed but who knows?

So what of the future?

1. Keep your eyes on Jesus and observe what happens in Jerusalem.

I’m not a prophet nor the son of a prophet, so I’m not going to speculate about the future other than to say keep your eyes on Jesus in the spiritual and pray for Jerusalem in the natural.

With all that’s going on in the world today, what happens to Israel will give us a clue of how close we are to the coming of the Lord.

The Bible says two notable things will take place.  1. Zechariah 12:1-5  2. Acts 2:17-18.

I don’t want to be a prophet of doom but I can say “although things look gloomy on the world front, keep a look out for a last day outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

It is already beginning!

I hear reports of thousands of people coming to Christ in Asia for example.

I also acknowledge the thousands of young people worshiping God at Youth Alive rallies and conferences all over our land.

Here in Australia we are seeing more souls coming to Christ than ever I saw in my ‘ministry’ years in the 1960s, 70s, 80s & 90s.

The Charismatic Renewal of the late 1960s & 70s was amazing for the Church world but what is to come will surpass that.

In Papua New Guinea I was a part of the early pioneer years of Church planting in the Sepik.

Now the Pentecostal Church in that beautiful country is I am told, twice as large numerically as the mother church that gave it birth seventy years ago. Hallelujah!

2. Keep using the gifts God has given you to bless others.

All of us were born with certain gifts.

We call them “Gifts of Nature”. Some like to call them “Motivational gifts!”

They come naturally to us regardless of our education,  secular grooming or family predispositions.

Some of you were given ‘Ministry Gifts’ (Ephesians 4:11) that have been welcomed by the Church, don’t forget to use them also to bless others!

Since retiring from my full time “Ministry” vocation, I am enjoying some of those areas of gifting that I never had time to research.

Hobbies such as making videos, photography for posterity, researching and communicating with thousands on the internet.

I used to enjoy singing duets with Betty and recorded a few tape albums years ago.

My voice is too rusty now so I whistle around the house instead….haha!

They are all interests that give me joy.

I am blessed to live within the financial constraints of what I call “the everlasting pension from my father in Canberra.”

I am grateful for a good wife who had a bit of a flair in real estate that has enabled me to end my days free of debt.

It’s comforting to find myself able to do the things that I am gifted to do naturally.

I love people, so I spend a lot of time on social media communicating good stories & trying to make videos that bless people.

I don’t ‘troll’ people on social media nor do I arrogantly express my opinion …. I prefer to say in a subliminal way…. ‘just saying!’ lol.

I don’t crave the recognition of my peers, or the desire to preach anymore.

I leave that to the younger generation who have the spiritual energy and emotional health to reach the lost.

Many of them are budding ’stars’ in my book.

As the saying goes “I’ve been there done that”!

What gives me joy is seeing them develop, praying for them and making people happy by promoting Christ and honouring others!

I love history, so I have been able to research my family tree for posterity.

I get a lot of joy in sharing good news so I communicate stories and photos that I think will bless people.

While reading all this you might be forgiven to believe I’ve had it easy!  ….. If you only knew the sadness, grief and challenges that we have negotiated in life and that’s a fact.

Some things we will never ‘understand’….. perhaps one day we will?

Maybe some self-serving people have hurt you or robbed you of family connections and life’s blessings!

I have found if you want to be happy, choose to forgive, then forget the rogues and serve the rest!

I have a friend who is gifted & loves cooking.

She regularly cooks delicious meals for her friends and gets a thrill out of doing it at her own expense just to bless them.

A South Australian colleague Ps Greg Johnston loves photography which shout out the creative wonder of God. He has given me the privilege of using his pics free of copyright, to add to my videos and bless others…. appreciated hey!

The one below is the latest!

In Conclusion.

I try to keep sweet like my mother taught me, particularly as I get older.

Apart from spiritual and family goals, I have two goals for this year and they are:

  1. To reach the target audience of 1millions viewers on my Youtube Church Channel. (Thats not many by secular or Youtube standards)
  2. To Digitalise and post online One Thousand videos on my Youtube Church Channel. (Presently I have posted 781 online)

That will keep me busy for a while and if you want to help? Subscribe to my Youtube Channel, its free and without strings attached!

Thank you and God Bless You!

Your words are such an encouragement. It is not easy to accept the physical limitations of age and I have personally found it a struggle in retirement, to come to terms with the loss of a strong sense of purpose. However, it is a joy to look back on a lifetime of service and to know that we didn’t waste those years on earthly pursuits. The memories are wonderful, and although there are many horrific things taking place in the world it is such a joy to watch the young upcoming leaders who are developing into passionate servants of Christ and to see pockets of full blown revival in many places. My eldest granddaughter and her husband were conducting services in Latvia a year ago and in one service, everyone who came for healing…was healed. The light shines most brightly in the darkest of places and it is marvellous to hear the progress of the Church in New Guinea.

Bless you Kerrie!….. You have been such a blessing over many years in your ministry especially to women & children. I honour you and now your grandchildren, Wow!

Dear Pastor I have been trying to find a way to reach out to you and thank you for your YouTube post of the short video of Handel Price. My wife and I were saved at a revival meeting Brother Price held at Redeemer Temple, Denver, CO, USA in March 1972. I’m trying to get more information on Brother Price. I love you and your wife’s website! Thank you, Dave Hill.

  6. Fred and Betty Evans Says:

Thank you Brother Dave for your kind comment…… I’m sorry I don’t have any up to date information about Handle Price….. I suspect he may with the Lord…? May the Lord bless you and your dear wife.
With Christian Greetings from Australia. …. Fred Evans
